Government Blockchain Association Releases Draft Standards for Remote Voting Posted on August 4, 2022November 11, 2022 by itops Pioneering work towards standards development led by election officials and cybersecurity experts starts taking shape. The GBA has released two products in August 2022 as part of this exercise. Multiple members of the Voatz team participated in this year long process and shared their expertise based on the extensive learnings from the field. The GBA Voting Working Group reviewed the VVSG and identified the changes needed to enable the certification of Remote Accessible Ballot Delivery, Marking & Return (RABDMR). This contribution was submitted to the EAC to revise the VVSG and include using blockchain & mobile devices for certifying election systems. The GBA assembled industry experts to debate remote digital voting at an event called Blockchain & Voting. Consequently, the participants agreed to draft a report comparing the functional and security considerations of available remote ballot return methods.
